Local Development Agent

The Concello de Arnoia provides, through its ADL, the following services to all residents:

Information and processing of grants for:
- Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of homes in rural areas (Housing Plan 2009-2012)
- Rehabilitation of ethnographic heritage.
- Agricultural: afforestation, marketing and processing of products, S.A.T., promotion of associations
- Acquisition of IT and audiovisual equipment for businesses, non-profit organisations and individuals.
- Galician emigrants.
Guidance on preparing CVs and cover letters.
Preparation for job interviews.
Guidance on job searching.
Advice on setting up ILEs, IER, IEBTs, associations and cooperatives.

Water and Sewerage Services

The offices for enquiries, information and processing of procedures related to these services are located in the Casa do Concello.

The maintenance staff handle any complaints or reports arising in the municipal water and sewerage networks, overseeing the various health controls established by current legislation.

Domestic water supply service:

The council has 3 regulating reservoirs to supply water to the population and a main network connected to the various “water conduits” that were installed many years ago with the personal and financial help of local residents. A new network is now being built which, in 2 or 3 years, will reach every home, but for the time being supply is guaranteed either directly or through the original networks built some 40 years ago. The water supplied comes from two springs and from a well for pumping in case of need.

Wastewater treatment service:

The council has a wastewater treatment plant with capacity to meet the needs of 2.000 inhabitants, reached by a collector that, running along the bank of the river Arnoia, gathers the various tributaries from the different places in the municipality. In the case of Remuíño, Reza and Porqueira, since channelling to that plant is not possible, compact treatment plants were installed to treat their wastewater. The village of Lapela remains with a septic tank that will have to be converted into a compact plant, depending on the volume of water to be treated.

Electricity Service

The Electricity Service is located in the offices of the Casa do Concello, where the electricity supply to the municipality is managed. During office hours, subscribers in the municipality can consult and request information about their consumption data and other details of their subscriber contract. Maintenance of the electrical infrastructure is also carried out from here. Technical staff are available 24 hours a day to deal with any fault that may occur in the municipal network.

Social Services

The council of Arnoia provides social services through the Mancomunidade I. V. do Ribeiro, to which it has belonged since its creation in 1988.

Opening hours

Social worker (Chus): Mondays and Wednesdays from 09:00 to 14:30
